It’s my dream live & work across the globe, permanently. To live life as a Digital Nomad. To help bring remote work and career opportunities to those in developing countries. That dream isn’t far away anymore. My youngest daughter still lives at home, and she’ll graduate from college in 2023. In preparing for my journey, remote work and culture have increasingly started to inspire me.
A bit of background…
My career (of > 25 years 😱) is in Enterprise IT – from sysadmin, technical architect, project manager and consultant to SVP IT Operations. Over the years, I’ve headed smaller and larger teams. I’ve seen people excel and I’ve seen people struggle. All before Covid, in the office. In 2020, I left my last job to pursue freelancing, entrepreneurship and digital nomad life.
These are the stories of my investigations into all remote work, building all remote culture, teams & organizations.
Why?
Consciously building and sustaining culture and values in an in-office location is already a tough task. Building an organization, engaging people, building and sustaining a company culture and values is so much harder in a hybrid or all-remote organization. The handbook on it just hasn’t been written yet. These articles are my thoughts, research and musings on the topic.
